Hello ladies and gentlemen!

First off, if you want a #basic Metalcore band, you won’t find it in The Devil Wears Prada. This band has such a deep and rich catalog, they’ve put out records that hit so heavy, and tunes that just groove for days. This record falls somewhere in between everything. You can taste their entire career in this masterpiece.

Praise Poison is brutal. Like a horse kick to the eardrums. It feels amazing. It’s almost a continuation of last years EP. To be honest, I was afraid they were just going to release a heavy Metalcore record. Not today kids.

Daughter, really kicks off the records theme. It’s the first single and music video. It’s a hybrid of progressive Metalcore and Groove Metal. To really appreciate this track you’re going to have to give it a few spins. It is so complex, but feels so smooth.

Overall the title track Transit Blues is by far my favorite track. It has this progressive escalations of tone and has this desperate feel to it that really captures the record’s theme.

Now for its theme. If you’ve ever left everything behind for your own self progress this record will sit comfortable with your subconscious. It’s something you can’t really describe to a person that hasn’t experienced it before. There’s this excitement of newness, and a pressing desire to grow independently. Just when you think you’re on top of the world, you get this feeling of sadness for all the people and places you’ve given up. It reminds you that no matter how far you’ve gone or how long you’ve been there, life always draws you back.

To me, The Devil Wears Prada capture this experience perfectly in this record.

I highly recommend “Transit Blues”. I have been thoroughly disappointed by a vast majority of the music released this year, however The Devil Wears Prada have delivered something truly magnificent.

It’s only drawback is replay ability. It’s tone and message make it difficult to listen to more than a few times before you want to call home.

The digital record is available on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play. Hard copies can be purchased in brick and mortar at BestBuy and Amazon offers both physical and digital copies. It can also be streamed on Apple Radio, Spotify, and Rdio.
